One of our customer’s most common questions. Every two to three years, is a good general rule of thumb. But, it really depends on the amount and intensity of traffic on your rugs. Rugs in high-traffic areas, like the front foyer or main hall, may require more frequent cleaning and repair whereas a less travelled rug in the back den may require fewer cleanings.
The rug’s condition & quality combined with our current production activity are the most important factors here, but typical cleaning time frame runs two weeks to three weeks. Any repairs and restoration are initiated post-cleaning and require additional time.

This depends on the damage and the desired level of service. It takes experience and a keen eye to evaluate and achieve this work. It helps. The right rug pad reduces slippage, reduces wear, adds cushion and comfort, and dampens noise. Pads can also serve as a moisture barrier delaying a spills from damage the wood floor. Manoukian Rugs™ can custom fit a rug pad to your freshly cleaned rug. Contact us to order your pad today.
Yes. Oriental and other types of area rugs should be carefully vacuumed regularly, especially in high traffic areas. Most soil in rugs is dry particulate matter, which acts as sandpaper and accelerates wear if it is not removed. Thicker rugs that are not regularly vacuumed can become impacted with dry soil over time, making it difficult, if not impossible, to remove.
We only clean area rugs in-plant. We do not offer in home wall-to-wall carpet cleaning services.
